Lesson Ten: Lotus Flowers and Frogs

In this 1:50 hour class Henry presented a in depth study of the subject of Lotus Flowers in Chinese brush painting. (*To join Henry Li's online Chinese brush painting class, please click here . )


In the first section of the class, Henry introduced the significance of lotus in Chinese culture and many different styles of lotus paintings by master artists.  Then Henry did some step by step demo on how to paint different elements of lotus, taro leaves and duckweeds. Finally, he did a complete painting with lotus flowers and a kingfisher. 

In the second part of this lesson, Henry did a frog painting after Master Qi Baishi and showed the process of dry-mounting it on a silk-scroll.
