Brush Size: 5"(13cm) Long, 1-9/16"(4cm) Dia; Handle size: 9-1/2"(24cm) Total: 14"(36cm)

Made of a mixture synthetic horse tail and goat hairs, this specialty big brush was designed by Master Xu Laosan for painting large paintings and bold strokes like lotus leaves or writing large size calligraphy. The traditional name for it is Jing-zhua or "Peking Grab", which has been used for hundreds of years, suggests that the brush might be too heavy to hold in the normal way when loaded so the artist must "grab" the handle in the hand(see picture). With an easy to split tip, it is perfect for painting the contemporary abstract painting or Zen style landscape with splash ink techniques.
