Title: A Lake View Landscape Painting(2017)

I made this painting up it could be a place like the California coast or Mt Lao in Qingtao, Shandong province. I use some metallic and gold watercolor over ink to indicate the glowing sunset light. The difference between western watercolor landscape and Chinese Shanshui(mountains and water) painting is that you can make things up on the paper as if building a landscape in a garden or even in a bonsai pot.

 

 

Painting Size: 24" x 13.5" (17" x 29" with silk margin) 

Media: Sumi Ink and watercolor on mulberry #2B Paper(mounted with silk brocade margin).
