• Shou Xuan is sized rice paper. Alum was applied as size  into the raw Xuan paper to make it non-absorbant.

• It is made for elaborated style (Gongbi) Chinese painting. See the sample lotus flower painting done by a famous Chinese artist.

• The surface was treated with mica mineral powder which sparkles in the sun or other strong light and give ink and colors delicate effects.
