Introducing the first Lesson of the Month! Lesson Number Eight: Contemporary Chinese Landscape Painting - the Three Gorges of Yangtze

In this 2 hour class Henry introduces his teacher Master Huang Chunyao (1923-2007) and the Nanjing School of landscape painting founded by Fu Baoshi. (*To join Henry Li's online Chinese brush painting class, please click here . )


Step by step Henry illustrates the concepts and techniques of realistic style Chinese landscape painting with a demonstration of the Three Gorges of Yangtze.


At the end of the class, Henry invited Professor Chen Guangyi, who was a colleague of Master Huang in Nanjing Normal University, to write a poem by Li Bo in cursive style calligraphy on a large sheet of rice paper and then he created a poetic painting with inspirations of the Tang poem.
