Color and Absorbency: While we strive for the utmost color accuracy, please be aware that the actual shade of the silk may slightly differ from the images displayed. Our silk is meticulously treated with an alum solution, a traditional process that significantly enhances its anti-insect and anti-fungus properties. Furthermore, this treatment bestows an anti-smearing quality to the silk, making it exceptionally suitable for the precise and intricate techniques essential in Gongbi painting.

Origin: Proudly made in Hu Zhou, Zhejiang Province, China, this silk is a testament to the region's renowned craftsmanship.

Dimensions: Width: 33.5 inches (85 cm) Sold by the yard (36 inches or 91.44 cm), and custom cut to the length of your order.

Customer Inquiry & Advice: "I recently purchased this silk for Gongbi painting from BHA and it's wonderful! However, the silk tends to wrinkle when I paint. Should I mount it before painting? I've found little information online about this process."

Response: For an optimal Gongbi painting experience, there's no need to mount the silk on an additional surface. Instead, simply stretch the silk onto a wooden frame using push pins, similar to preparing a canvas. For guidance, check out this helpful YouTube tutorial on how to stretch the silk properly.

Here is another Youtube in which you can see how the art students use woody frames with silk stretched on them.  https://youtu.be/AMwo_qPoZH8?t=9m56s
