Lesson 21: Peacocks with Peony and Cherry Blossoms

If cranes are the tallest birds peacock is the longest flying bird in the world. I will show you how to paint this beautiful creature by recalling a lesson I took 40 years ago from my teacher Zhang Zhenying, and also following a masterpiece by Shuchi Chang in a delicate freestyle of painting.

1) Peacock Head, Feet and Feather Studies (see video Part 1)
Please study and paint one peacock's covert feather and develop your own favorite colors for the "eye". Write down your steps of color application and submit with your pictures.
2) Paint a peacock with Peony on a 1/4 sheet of single Xuan paper(14"x27");
3) Paint a large peacock with cherry on 3/4 sheet of Xuan paper (27"x41").
