Gelatin-free hard sized, this premium quality silk is pre-backed with paper for Gongbi or elaborate style Chinese painting. It can also used for calligraphy and freestyle paintings. 

It is none absorbent, will not smear or run. You may also use it for other styles like mogu bornless or Chinoiserie style painting. The advantage of painting on silk surface is that you can easily move paints around to generate a smooth flat wash or gradation, and to depict great details in fine texture. You may also use masking fluid, gouache, or acrylic paints.
