Full Product Description The Water Star Brand Rice Paper Roll is a premium unsized Chinese rice paper suitable for a wide range of traditional and creative art uses. Made in China from mulberry and cotton fibers , this 30g paper has a pure white, soft, slightly textured surface that absorbs ink and water-based media evenly.
Unlike Wenzhou rice paper rolls, this Water Star paper does not have a shiny surface. Its natural matte texture and slightly heavier body make it especially useful for brush painting, calligraphy, rubbing, stamping, printmaking, and mixed-media applications. A graphic designer artist client has also noted that its weight and surface are well suited for printing.
This paper is excellent for Sumi-e, Chinese brush painting, calligraphy, gyotaku fish printing, woodcut or lino block printing, bookbinding, mounting, rubbing, stamping, kite making, lantern making, window covering, and collage . Ceramic artists have also used this type of paper successfully for creating printed underglaze ceramic transfers.
The roll format is very convenient: carry it easily, then cut or tear only the size you need for each project.
